The power of 'making' drives me every day. Though modern production extends across borders and oceans, I love that this video touches on the joy of 'in-house' or 'DIY'...the depth of understanding and pleasure that comes from experiencing a craft or skill from soup to nuts. Ohh V&A, I miss you...

let's blow up the dance floor...and some other things while we're at it
I've fallen in love with the trio of directors from CANADA, a production company out of Barcelona, Spain. Also, the fantastic cinematography from Marc Gómez del Moral.
Their videos are full of vivid, exhilarating, provoking imagery, with a slightly humorous undertone...
Watching these little artistic beauties makes me want to dance. They make me want to fill my car up with arts and crafts, toys, fireworks, bikes, cameras and a plethora of random curiosities and take a road trip. A road trip to the desert, the mountains, the ocean, the woods or even a rooftop where I can just let my imagination explode in a furry of color and light and sensation!
Go on. explore. let yourself get carried away...

Yves Saint Laurent: New Vintage III
The ECO Designer in me is thrrrrilled about this!!!
I have worked in sustainable design for a number of years now and have been working on my own project in this vein that I am extremely excited about!
Blending form, function and conscience can be tricky in business, but it is very possible and becoming more and more easy to navigate these waters the more companies, design houses, manufacturers, etc jump on board.
It's so important for big business to get on this bus...better late than never, right?

the late, great Lee
A beautiful tribute video to the late, great Lee Alexander McQueen, presented at the 2010 British Fashion Awards by Nick Knight, entitled: "To Lee, With Love, Nick"
McQueen was such an amazing visionary and one of my great inspirations, whose work will continue to influence for many years to come. His work is not mere fashion; he was an architect, an artist, able to think outside the box and create what others could only whimsically dream upon.

let's take a ride
This makes me want to chop off my long locks, channel the feminine, yet boyish charm of Katherine Hepburn and go for a ride in a winterish wonderland.

I Met Up With The King Queens
Last night I was charmed by the Swedish Söderberg sister duo, First Aid Kit.
My friend was gracious enough to score me a spot for this fortuitous experience at The Echo. I was awestruck by their soulful lyrics and eerie harmonies, delivered by voices mature far beyond their years. The Echo was a perfectly intimate venue for these humble, yet powerful performers, who were able to bring a typically chatty and disconnected LA crowd to silence as they stepped away from their mics to deliver an entirely acoustic melody. Beautiful.
This review from the BBC is a perfect description for their debut album.
Now, excuse me while I go put on a paisley peasant dress and pick at my guitar by a bonfire...
